- April 03: “Wave of Tibet immolations among history's biggest” Dr. John Horgan is interview by USA Today to discuss the self-immolation tactic demonstrated by two Tibetan monks.

This position is part-time and open to all PSU undergraduates. All work is conducted on the University Park campus, and the position runs the duration of the Fall 2012 semester with a required commitment of 10 hours per week. Dedicated to the scientific study of terrorism and political violence, the International Center for the Study of Terrorism (ICST) engages in research, teaching, and training activities that are multidisciplinary in nature and international in scope. The Center is committed to promoting data-driven empirical research on terrorism performed to the highest academic standards. With its hub at the Pennsylvania State University, ICST also functions around a core of universities that comprise the Worldwide Universities Network. Using the global structure and capabilities of this network, ICST encourages collaboration, information sharing, dialogue, and debate across geographical and disciplinary boundaries.
